Guys 'n gals... Leonard HACKING was the grandfather of my 1st cousin's husband, Harvey R. HACKING of New Jersey who died just a few days ago. Leonard came from Blackburn, England to Philadelphia circa 1899. His wife and child apparently followed shortly thereafter. His wife later took a trip via Ellis Island - in 1924. 1. Does anyone have any information on this HACKING line? 2. If you have City Directory access other than 1900, 1910, 1917, and 1921, could you check this for me? He is listed in 1921 as a carpenter.
