My questions are: Who was the mother of these children? What was the real name of the child named "Beans"? and What was "Beans' " date of birth? Any help on this mystery would be greatly appreciated. Howard Howard Speck ----- Howard- I have no knowledge of or connection to this family--but a quick search of WorldConnect family trees turned up a Joseph VANDEGRIFT born in Bucks County in 1762--death date not listed, whose wife is shown as Mary MCBEAN. Now wouldn't it be perfect for a child of a mother whose maiden name was MCBEAN to have the nickname "Beans?" The family trees don't list ANY children for this couple but were it me I'd be curious enough to consider this possibility and try to find out whether they had any offspring or not.
