Dear readers Having spent days and days searching for my Donnelly family could I please ask if someone could confirm that the Knickerbocker Ice Company was situated in Wards 6 and 10. As my Michael was said to have worked there in 1897 I am hoping that he was living in the area at that time. Having spent so much time searching unsuccessfully for other family members in other wards I am now going cross-eyed and would hate to find that having covered wards 6 and 10, I was on the wrong track all along. Please can someone help. Eileen
Eileen, Have you tried 1890 Philadelphia Directory @ http://olddirectorysearch.com for your Donnelly family? You can also pull up Knickerbockebocker Ice Co and it's locations are given. I'd say the Del warf and Market St warf would possibly be in the lower ward numbers. Eileen, I just saw your post. Have you tried the City Directories or census records? Good Luck. I seem to recall that Knickerbocker was in Kensington or Fishtown, ward 18 or maybe 31 . Where did you get wards 6 or 10? Wards 6 and 10 were down in Old City.
