    2. I actually answered my own question. I went onto the NARA website. They have Enlistments for 1838-46, which ancestry.com has, some POW records and some draft registrations. I'm looking for all the draft registrations, which are not available. Also on this site they tell how you can get someone's records. I sent to the National Personnel Records Center or something like that and got a record for my father--very brief, but maybe that will help you.
