    3. Pease, Clark M., 5th New York Cavalry, Private: Germantown Newspaper Obituary, 1911, Service Record, Death Certificate: Born 28 August 1840, died 16 September 1911. CLARK M. PEASE: Funeral services were held Monday for Clark M. Pease, of 157 West Logan street who died at his home on Friday, after a protracted illness. Rev. Edwin H. Romig, of the First Congregational Church, officiated. Interment was made in Greenwood Cemetery [Knights of Pythias]. Mr. Pease was born in Marlboro, Vermont, Agust 28, 1840. He was for several years Justice of the Peace and Coroner for Essex County, New york. He served through the Civil War in the Fifth New York Cavalry, and was the commander of the Griswold Post [G.A.R.] at Troy, N. Y. He had lived in Philadelphia for seven years. He is survived by a widow and three daughters—Mrs. Dr. C. F. Eldridge, Mrs. Heber S. Lanning and Mrs. A. Mower. He enlisted in the 5th New York Cavalry on 18 Oct. 1861; was promoted to full 2nd Lieuteneant on 14 November 1864 and was mustered out on 19 July 1865 at Winchester, VA. He was born c. 1840.
