    3. Mayhew, Wallace: Obituary, "The Germantown Guide", 1926, Sergeant, Co. D, 118th PA Vols.: Wallace Mayhew, one of the few remaining members of the 118th Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteers, the old “Corn Exchange” regiment, died in the Germantown Hospital. He was 91 years old. One of his forebears was Thomas Mayhew, the first colonial governor of Martha’s Vineyard. Mr. Mayhew joined the Union Army at the outbreak of the war and served until the end.
