Beck, Mrs. Sarah G. R.: Obituary Germantown Guide 1926: Sarah Grier Rose Beck, daughter of Robert Grier, former Justice of the United States Supreme Court, died Monday in her 96th year at her home 5313 Baynton street. Mrs. Beck was born in Danville and numbered as friends many famous Americans. In the Civil War she served as a nurse and in the course of her duties met President Lincoln on several occasions. Among her acquaintances were President Buchanan, Henry Clay, Daniel Webster and President Grant. For many years Mrs. Beck was active in the religious life of Philadelphia.
