    3. Join us this Saturday for the third annual Bucks County Ancestry Fair. The event is free, and will include speakers, an exhibit area, and more. More details can be found on our website at http://www.genpa.org. Scheduled lectures in the theater: • 10:00 AM - “19th Century Naturalizations” Jefferson M. Moak is currently the senior archivist at the Mid-Atlantic Regional Branch of the National Archives and Records Administration and a board member (and former Vice-President) of the Genealogical Society of Pennsylvania. Previous to his employment at NARA, he worked at the Philadelphia City Archives for 15 years. He is known for his work in indexing naturalizations from the city and county courts of Philadelphia, especially the Philadelphia County District Court and Common Pleas Court. He also compiled "Street Name Changes of Philadelphia" which originally appeared in 1996. He is also considered by some to be a fairly competent genealogist, serving as Registrar for the Pennsylvania Society, Sons of the Revolution since 2000 and as the Registrar for the General Society, Sons of the Revolution from 2000-2006. • 1:00 PM – Kay Haviland Freilich, CG. “Were Your Ancestors Friends? Finding and Using Their Quaker Records” Quakers left an abundance of records that are readily available to today’s family historians. Understanding the types of records, how to use them, and where to find them will help trace Society of Friends ancestors. Kay Haviland Freilich, Certified Genealogist, Certified Genealogical Lecturer, author of Research in Pennsylvania and verifying genealogist for the Welcome Society of Pennsylvania, is a current trustee and former president of the Board for Certification of Genealogists® and winner of the 2009 National Genealogical Society Family History Writing Contest. • 2:30 PM – Thilo Agthe “Introduction to Genealogy Research in Germany” Thilo Agthe has been researching in Germany for over 10 years, and is the founder and webmaster of Onlineprojekt Gefallenendenkmäler (www.denkmalprojekt.org), aGerman-language website that collects names from German war memorials, casualty lists and military cemeteries for use by genealogists. As of August 2009, the website has collected over 1.1 million names. The class will discuss sources, strategies, and the challenges of researching in Germany, as well as an in-depth discussion of what researchers need to know about German history, German laws (particularly the data protection regime) that complicate research, andhow to get the most out of research trips to Germany. • 4:00 PM - “Researching Your Irish Ancestors” Susan Koelble, CG, professional researcher, author, and lecturer. She is co-owner of the genealogical publishing company, Bare Roots Publishing. She is a member of the Board of Directors of The Genealogical Society of Pennsylvania and has been a counselor for GSP’s popular Summer Camp series. She currently volunteers at The Historical Society of Pennsylvania. Workshops in the Board Room: • 10:00 AM –“Researching your Revolutionary War-Era Ancestor at the David Library” Kathie Ludwig and Greg Johnson comprise the reading room staff of the David Library of the American Revolution in Washington Crossing, Pennsylvania. Over the past six years, they have assisted countless genealogists and family historians using the incomparable resources of the David Library. • 11:30 AM– “Beginning Genealogy, Getting Started on Your Family History” Karen Higgins, professional genealogist. Karen has over twenty years experience researching personal genealogy, including extensive research in Finnish and German records. She is a member of the Genealogical Society of Pennsylvania's Board of Directors. • 1:00 PM – Karen Silver owner of Creative Inkling in Peddlers Village will conduct a class on journaling and scrap booking. • 2:30 – Patrice Matthews “Why and How to Join the Daughters of the American Revolution”
