The Germantown Upper Burial Ground (Axe's Cemetery, the Old Concord Ground) (Germantown Ave. above Washington Lane) will be open from Noon to 4PM on 4 July 2009 with the traditional ringing of the Concord School House bell at 2PM. These two cemteries are the oldest non-sectarian cemeteries in Philadelphia, having been founded in 1692 and many of the early Germantown settlers are buried in them.
