Probably not a stroke. 'Phrenetic' (frenetic) is just a Latin word for intense agitation or frenzy. It is a descriptive term for the symptom (an involuntary behavior), which could have been caused by a number of conditions or organisms. It was some kind of feverish illness, possibly but not necessarily encephalitis, that had caused a wild agitation and possibly delirium. Liz J 2009/8/24 Vincent E.
