    3. Unless something has changed, you wouldn’t be able to get a copy of an 1892 marriage record from the archives by mail, only in person. The staff isn’t allowed to process marriages between 1885-1915. If you have to do it by mail, you would have to request it from the Marriage License Bureau at City Hall, and it’s expensive. Here’s their website: http://secureprod.phila.gov/wills/marriagerecordinfo.aspx Going the LDS route has to be cheaper, unless you live here as I do and can go to the City Archives in person, where the record will cost around $2.50 give or take a bit, depending on how many pages you print (there should be 3). jo

    3. Hi, I recently looked into this and now it appears that you can only "view" the marriage records at the City Archives. The only way to get an actual print of the record is through City Hall (see below) or to rent the appropriate microfilm from the LDS. For the $7.50 microfilm rental, I'd go through the LDS route. Bette MARRIAGE RECORDS A Marriage Record is a certified or exemplified copy of a Marriage Application or Duplicate Portion of the Marriage License. There are many reasons why a person may wish to obtain a Marriage Record and our office is prepared to accommodate requests. To obtain a Marriage Record, please send us a letter containing 1) the names that the parties used when they applied for a license, 2) the date of the marriage, 3) a self addressed stamped envelope. In addition, you must send in two checks. The first for $15.00, made out to "The Clerk of Orphan’s Court". This is to pay for the research. The second check is to be for either $20.00 if you are ordering a Certified Copy or $40.00 if you are ordering an Exemplified Copy. If you need to obtain Marriage Records, we have expedition services available. If you have any questions, please call.
