    3. Does anyone know how I can acquire an obit from Dec 1923 for an Alice Dahms who died in Philadelphia besides writing to the Phila Free Library for it? It doesn't look like genealogybank.com has a paper covering 1923 for Phila. Thank you, Dottie

    3. Send a written request with the person's name, exact date of death (month, day, year) or burial date and a stamped self-addressed envelope. They will check two newspapers for each name submitted. U.S. Mail: Free Library of Philadelphia Newspapers & Microfilm Center 1901 Vine Street Philadelphia, PA 19103 Email: erefNEWS@freelibrary.org Payments: A $10 fee will be charged for up to three obituary name "lookups" whether or not staff can locate the obituaries. This fee covers three emailed scans. If you prefer a paper copy a $5.00 shipping/handling fee will be added. An invoice and search results will be sent upon completion of the research Service Limitations: Please be advised that staffing limitations prevent them from undertaking ongoing or in-depth research for patrons. Please refrain from sending additional requests until payment is completed for previous requests. Here are just some of the newspapers that are archived at the Newspaper and Magazine Database Center at the Free Library of Philadelphia. Philadelphia Bulletin, 4/10/1847-1/29/1982 Philadelphia Inquirer, 4/3/1860-date Philadelphia Public Ledger, 3/25/1836-3/15/1934 Philadelphia Record, 5/14/1870-2/1/1947 Of course, there are MANY others.
