    3. I have the revised edition, from 2001, of the Philadelphia Street Name Changes, published by The Chestnut Hill Almanac, Genealogical Series - Publication #2. In this book it shows that there were seven Wood Streets. Unfortunately, only three gave references to the Ward in which they were located. One was Ward 25 - Frankford District, name change in 1897 to Frogmoor St.; located: East from Powder Mill Lane. The next two are in Ward 21, one is in the Roxborough District, name changed in 1897 to Silverwood St.; located Shawmont to Port Royal Aves. The other Wood St. in Ward 21, is in the Manayunk District. was also changed in 1897 to Silverwood St.; located Cotton St. to Domino La. Located in the Kensington District is Susquehanna St., in same location as Wood St.; no date of change. Finally, also in Kensington District but no Ward info is Otis St.changed from Wood Street in 1858; located Queen to West Sts.,north of Gunner's Run. Now that I've given you all the ones to eliminate, here are the rest of the Wood Sts. #1. changed to 17th St.in 1976; located within the relocated 17th St., no District or Ward provided. #2. changed to Franklin Town Blvd. in 1972; located Franklin Town Blvd, no District or Ward provided. I did look through the book for Ward 10 and I found that the changes of names occurred around 1897 and the area covered was spots like Cherry to Vine Sts. w. of 21st St.; E. from 23rd St., n. of Race; N. of Race St., w of Broad St.; Winter to Vine Sts, w. of 17th St.; also w. of 10th St.; W. from 8th St.; n. of Arch St.; E. from 12th St. , n. to Arch St.; 12th St. to Juniper St., n. of Arch St.;Cherry to Race Sts., w. of 20th St.; In 1869, Ward 10 showed Cowslip St. changed to Spring St. which was located 15  to 16th Sts.,n. of Race St. I think this all has to do with the construction of City Hall, Benjamin Franklin Parkway, the Chinese Wall for the train depot, or maybe building the Broad Street Subway system. The remaking of center city. Hope this wasn't more than you wanted to know.
