    3. My third Great Grandfather entered and was discharged from the Blockley Alms House ( later known as Philadelphia General Hospital) several times. He finally died and was buried there. The "Poorhouse Story" is a very good website. This Alms house was where the University of Pennsylvania is now located. Family History Centers can access the Alms House records that were microfilmed from the Philadelphia Archives.
