    1. [Phly-Rts] about 1940 census

    3. In 1940 my parents and children moved into a house at 4046 I st, Juniata section of philly. Not sure of the month. I have found the street and the neighbors, but 4046 I st is not listed. We lived on water st for awhile and then we lived on another st in Juniata for a short time (can't remember the name) and then moved into the 4046 I st address. My question is, If a house is empty would the enumerator have listed it, and listed it as empty? My thinking is no it would not have been listed. Bill Pallatt

    3. Hi, I am helping out with some transcribing and the census sheets we are working from do not always have the houses listed sequentially. A lot of them do but other sheets I have done will have house say 1556, then 0601/2/3 then 1557, 1558. Just as and when the enumerator could get to them. Also keep looking at the DB as I guess new records will be coming on frequently as transcribers do them.) Cathy (in New Zealand being able to help out so how's that for the wonders of our modern technological world!)
