I was contacted this morning by a Philadelphia newspaper who seeks info on a property apparently once owned by William Ayres, horse-blanket manufacturer. Now this is not the area of 3rd & Cumberland, as those buildings are well-known. Any idea about H Street? 3222 - 3258 H Street. Was there an earlier name that might show a listing? Thanks. Any help would be great. Any QUICK help would be Thank you, Thank you, "with sugar on the top." Vince
3200 H St. is near H and Westmoreland. There are, if I remember correctly, three old factories in that immediate area. Thanks, Gene. The inquiry has to do with a factory building fire and descendants of the Ayres. It could be it would only cause trouble for such ones. Supposedly it involves: Ayres-Philadelphia, Inc. We have many such fires in Philadelphia. There was a serious one last week in Fishtown in which two firemen were killed.
