    3. Hello Mary, Many thanks for your interest and response. The 1910 Census lists a deceased child but does not name it . Your information is most interesting because, while a 'Doris Mason' is listed on the 1910 aged 4, there is no sign of her on the 1920 Census. So I suspect she died between 1910 & 1915. Is it possible for you confirm names and dates of these deaths for me please ? Best wishes, Tony On Sat, Nov 5, 2011 at 9:12 PM, Mary Walsh <maryewalsh@hotmail.com> wrote: > > Hi Tony, > I have no connection but I thought I'd pass this information on in case it > is new to you. 3. Hi Folks, Returning to your site after some years. I'm an 'old' family historian, now living in Scotland, trying to trace descendants of the above before its too late :-) Frank Mason was my Gt Uncle who emigrated from Nottingham, England to Philadelphia, aged 17, in 1895. On April 8th 1899 Frank married Rose Hammill in Philadelphia. Some time after the marriage Frank started to call himself Francis Joseph Mason. They had 4 surviving children : Alma Mason born in 1901; Francis Mason born in 1902; Doris Mason born in 1906 and Annie Mason born about 1914. The son, Francis Mason, married a Mary Bouland in 1924 and is believed to have died in 1955, aged 52 years, at 3120 North 35th Street, Philadelphia. A daughter, Alma, is believed to have married a Irvine or Irwin Deitrich before the 1930 Census. Known addresses in Philadelphia of Frank and Rose are : 1900 - 3371 Coral Street; 1910 - 3252 Emerald Street; 1920 - 959 East Westmoreland Street and in 1942 he registered (serial number 1299) as living at 6258 Charles Street I would love to hear from anyone connected to or having any knowledge of, the above families. Also quite happy to try to help with any queries folk may have concerning this side of the pond. Best wishes, Tony Burton.

    3. Hi Tony, I have no connection but I thought I'd pass this information on in case it is new to you. Familysearch.org has Phila. Death certificates on there from the 1803- 1915. By putting in "Mason" and the parents name "Frank" and "Rose" into the search engine, I found the death certificates of two of their children. I ran the addresses you listed in the search engine for the Phila. Inquirer archives but had no luck. 3. Hi Tony: I wish I could help but I have no Mason's or Hammil's in our lines. I am sorry. My husband's ancestors came from Scotland. Thieir names were Nicholas and Jane (?) Scott. I do not know Jane's maiden name and not sure if her first name is Jane or if it is Elizabeth Jane.. I believe the time frame of their birth was in the later part of the 1700's as my husband's gggrandfather William was born 12/1797 in Ireland. So we have Nicholas and Jane Scott born maybe around 1760's upward. I do not know of any of William's siblings or if he was the first, or second etc. born child. William married Fanny ( maybe Frances) and they had William James born 1800 in Ireland. They had William James born 1845, Elizabeth Jane born 1832, Catherine born 1837, and James born 1840. These dates are about right. They emigrated to America on the James L Bogart ship in 1855 arriving in New York in May 12th 1855. Any information you might be able to see or direct me to a site other than Ancestry because It is just too expensive for me I would so appreciate it. Thank you so much. Sarah and Russ Scott from Newton, New Jersey e mail scott1@embarqmail.com Good Luck in your hunting and I will keep an eye out for any Mason's and Hammil. -----Original Message----- From: Tony Burton Sent: Saturday, November 05, 2011 4:12 PM To: PHILLY-ROOTS@rootsweb.com Subject: [Phly-Rts] Descendants of Frank aka Francis Mason & Rose Hammill Hi Folks, Returning to your site after some years. These 2 were : for 20 acres 'Liberty Land at D66-25,25 and a city lot D66-39 on line x09. Also there was 480 acres at D66-189,190 . 1. [Phly-Rts] Old St. Joseph's RC Church records...Hopkins
    2. I'm looking for the maiden name of Catharine Margaret (she went by Margaret) who married Adam GEIGER (later KIGER) widower, on 5 Apr. 1763. The marriage is in the records of Old St. Joseph's RC Church, Philadelphia, PA. However, Adam GEIGER was part of what is referred to as "The New Jersey Mission." He lived in Salem County, NJ. I believe that after Adam's death she remarried to Capt. Joseph WOOD of the American Revolution. They are buried in Old Jordantown Cemetery in Auburn, Salem County, NJ. Although the stone is no longer readable it once bore the inscription: "She went to war, cooked, and cared for him." The only other HOPKINS record in the early Old St. Joseph's records is for William HOPKINS and Margaret BROWN (Protestant) listing their children baptized at this church: John, 1789; Catharine, 1792; William Henry, 1794; Henry, 1795; Bartholomew Philip, 1797. Perhaps the above William HOPKINS is a son of Catharine Margaret and her first husband? Any information about Catharine Margaret [--?--] HOPKINS GEIGER WOOD would be appreciated. Joan

According to Findagrave.com, Odd Fellows Cemetery no longer exists: Established March 24, 1849 at 23rd and Diamond Streets in Philadelphia, in 1951 the cemetery was acquired by the City of Philadelphia in order to build the Raymond Rosen Housing Development. Some of the graves were moved to the Memorial Park section of Lawnview Cemetery, in Rockledge, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, and some were removed to Philadelphia's Mount Peace Cemetery.
