    3. I used to sing with the Mendelssohn Club in the 80s and we rehearsed there at night. Never even noticed the windows until a Saturday rehearsal with the sun shining in. You might contact them at http://www.ststephensphl.org/index.html about their windows. 3. Sorry, haven't been there in years. I have a book on Tiffany windows that lists "Widener Memorial Window - 'Come Unto Me'" at St. Stephen's. There are several other memorial windows there. Here's their site - http://www.ststephensphl.org/index.html They may have something printed about their memorials. Didn't see anything on the site. Do you know who might be on any of the plaques? Our ancestor, Mary Prowell, it has been said that she donated money to the church before she died in 1855. She never married and had inherited money from her uncle Major Joseph Prowell who was a decorated hero in the Rev. War and is buried at Old Pine Cemetery in Philadelphia. The DAR has a plaque at his gravesite. There is a lot of paper trails on Major Prowell of Philadelphia but I am always on the lookout for more. As after the war he became a sea merchant and lived in Beribce Guyana South America before coming back to Philadelphia where he died in 1804. A newspaper article stated that he was buried with military honors at Old Pine Cemetery. I love the history and just love visiting all the Philadelphia areas that our ancestors were once located. Mary Prowell's grandfather was married at Old Swede's Church, Thomas Prowell to widow Rachael Griffith. Would love to find out more about them. They once lived in Vincent Township. And Thomas's father, James Prowell was an immigrant who lived in Chester County. History is interesting and makes you want for more. Love It. Darlene
