    3. Yes, they were well known in Canada. Louis had a patent there, as well, though I don't know which one. Is there a site that grants Canadian patent information for free? 3. Thank you, Don. I do have a newspaper notice of the sale to take place on 31 Mar 1784, so I suppose the best thing would be to find a case before that date with my party being the defendant. Unfortunately the LDS doesn't appear to have the Common Pleas court records for that date. 3. Hi Brenda, The answer in my experience is: "probably not." I speak from experience rather than from expertise so please take it with a grain of salt. I'm sure that there are others on the list who are far more knowledgeable. The date of the deed may be helpful, as that must post date the action. The action will be found with the grantor of the deed as the defendent in a civil case. Here in Allegheny County there is a "General Judgement Index" which has docket entries for "all" of the civil actions. It's held by the Office of the Clerk of the Court of Common Pleas, i.e. the Prothonotary's office. Many counties do not have a Prothonotary. Here the General Judgement Index is online for all cases running from 1973-present. The earlier stuff must be searched on the spot or you can pay the office to do it. I hope this is accurate enough to at least not be harmful. 3. I went to the library and copied some immigration from Sweden of the World Ancestry, but I am looking for someone who has the world, who might be able to enlarge or at least print the last 5 names on the manifest. #’s 62 and 63, Esterlunds. Library print only went to the last 3 names. Date was April 25, 1873 on ship Rollo, headed for Hull, England Thank you, Jane

    3. George, His death certificate would have that information if the informant at the time of death knew the answers. I assume you have not been able to locate him in any of the censuses? Amy -----Original Message----- From: George Corrigan Sent: Thursday, April 19, 2012 1:57 PM To: philly-roots@rootsweb.com Subject: [Phly-Rts] Burial Card I recently found a burial card for a Francis P.Corrigan and dob 7/25/91, dod was 8/16/41. He left home in 1910 and was never heard from since. This card states that he served from 1917 to 1919 in the Army, Co.A 301 at Batt Tank Cps Private # 01776329. He is buried at St. Mark's Bristol Bucks county. The info on the card was given by Philadelphia County Registry, he died in Philly Co. I have sent for his service record and Draft card registration, hoping to get the name of his next of kin. My question is, would his death cert. have his next of kin on it?. Would the death cert have a address of the place he died? Any help would be appreciated. 2. There are GEIGERs just about everywhere -- as Lori and I both know well. <g> We've both been hunting GEIGERs for a long time. Usually the GIGER spelling you note is less common -- especially in Pennsylvania. You will find it more frequently in Illinois (Marine Settlement) for the descendants of a specific individual who was originally a GEIGER. Joan In a message dated 4/18/2012 5:57:39 P.M. 3. Jane, This is the grandfather of the Andrew I spoke to you about. I do have the grandson's 1835 admin. I have not been able to find a will or admin for the one who died in 1812 so am hoping the Bernhard is reflective of difficult to read writing, maybe the "k" didn't get enough height thus making it look like an "n".
