    3. Well guys, I just have to tell everyone that I decided that I was going to go out on a limb and finally found a valid email for the Keswick Colony of Mercy in Manchester NJ in search of my elusive RAWS family.....I could not piece my Arthur William Raws with the rest of the RAWS family that my father knew was family. I emailed the Colony of Mercy (they work with drunks...) and asked them to please pass on a letter to the Pastor that is 'in charge'. Well, needless to say, he got the letter which was just sent over the weekend. He contacted his cousin who lives on the property along with a gazillion other Raws it seems.....Ruth, his cousin, contacted me today and was talking to my mother since I was just getting home from work (perfect timing I think). Well come to find out - they have traced the Raws family tree back to the 1700s (less work for me maybe??) and the reason I could not connect my Arthur to the rest of the RAWS was because the other family members/brothers were half-sies!! I go to meet them next Monday and let me tell you this much..........most of them all look alike!! Just wait until they see the copy of my grandmother's wedding picture and see her along with her father and brother. Then to take a look at the picture of my family from when my brother got married in 1986 and see how my youngest daughter (who happened to be placed smack in front of my grandmother) resembles a RAWS.........FREAKY to say the least!!!!!! 1. [Phly-Rts] Court of Quarter Sessions 1861

    3. I did visit the Philadelphia City Archives to look this up, and that was a disappointment. There were two different dockets for 1861, and each was wrapped and taped--it seems that it's been a verrrry long time since anyone has used them. In any case, the end result is that the case I was looking for was not listed in either docket. FYI, in 1861, it's dockets only--no notes have survived from that year (I don't know about others because I didn't ask). Any ideas on where else to look, or shall I call it quits on this one? larzemail <larzemail@yahoo.com> wrote: Thanks, Gene. The main page of the archives is not working, but a little further searching turned up this page: http://www.phila.gov/PHILS/Docs/Inventor/textonly/archser/S021.htm#21.2 This link above details the Court of Quarter Sessions' records and where to find them if anyone else is interested. 3. Use the e-mail option, there is still a two obit limit but no ssae is required, they respond via e-mail. Larry B. ----Original Message Follows---- Hmmmm.....When I called the library to ask about looking these up, the gentleman did NOT tell me there was a 2 obit request maximum OR to include a self-addressed stamped envelope. I wonder what this means about my request.... 2. That is the 31st Ward. The address should still be the same as today, do a mapquest search to see the cross streets, then check the census enumeration districts to see if you can pick it out. 2. Kathryn Gordon Hamby
    3. Hi everyone, Could someone possibly tell me where 2352 Sepviva would be in the 1880 census?? My Robert S MEYERS (MYERS) died in 1879 and the funeral was at his home at 2352 Sepviva. In the 1890 PCD his widow Elizabeth is living at 2540 Sepviva, she was still there in 1900. I can't find her anywhere in the 1880 census and I'm hoping if I find out what ward it was in maybe I can find her hoefully. 3. You folks know that I have, of late, been looking for Emily Jeanette Fitzgerald DEPUY and her daughter, Emily Blanche Depuy BALDWIN, right? Well my distant cousin, in looking for Emily the daughter, found an Emily Blanch Depuy HUBBARD. Now c'mon! This can't be just a plain coincidence, right? The timing's funny on this one. Now her father was a mariner who is in the 1880 and 1890 and 1895 City Directories, but not 1900. By then he had died. 1880 PCD Hubbard James H., mariner, h 1743 Park av[enue] 1890 PCD Hubbard James H., mariner, h 1742 Park av[enue] 1895 PCD Hubbard Jas H., mariner, h 1742 Park av[enue] I am hoping an obituary might name a wife, and refer to his daughter... Can anyone see such an entry? Vince
