>Where are the records for people who were naturalized in county, not >federal, courts? >(I know the federal court records are at NARA.) There is an alpha index on microfilm, plus the actual records on microfilm, at the Philadelphia City Archives, in the lower drawers, behind the microfilm readers. I was told that there were six different state courts that did naturalizations through the 1920s, but there is a single index. I am convinced that the Images as published do not contain all the pages from the 1920 Philadelphia Census. I have spent a lot of time going thru a particular ward and the odd number addresses from a street I am looking for are simply not there. And this is not a case of overlap between wards as the street is more or less in the middle of the ward. A search for "Kennedy b. Ireland Phila Wd 22" in 1870, didn't turn up any James. There are a lot of Kennedys born in Ire residing in Germantown. More info would be needed to track him down.
