    1. [Phly-Rts] 1864 Bockius Marriage Lookup
    2. I want to thank all the listers who responded to my marriage look-up request! This is a great list, with so many helpful & knowledgeable folks on it. I just wanted to let everyone know that my quest has been answered---& not by using the Free Library. The date was confirmed in the LDS pedigree resource file, which I already had but had overlooked. Altho' I realize that information placed on the LDS site is often unreliable because it's undocumented; in this case, I feel very certain that the 1864 marriage date is correct because the couple is listed in both the 1870 & 1880 censuses, living next door to Sarah's parents. Thanks for everyone's input! 3. Kathy, Philadelphia began, for the most part, keeping civil records of birth, marriages, and deaths in 1860, so for the time period you're looking for, you'll need to find the church record. And to do that, you need to know what church they attended / where they lived and what religion they practiced. 3. Linda, In my experience, the only thing that will be in the newspaper is the information that two people of these names took out a marriage license, so the Free Library generally or the Public Ledger index specifically, probably won't get you too far -- unless these folks were high society and their marriage might have rated an article? Maybe someone can check the indexes and find the marriage ledger details for you from the City Archives. If not, you can pay the City Archives (or an independent researcher) to do the research for you. 2. Have you checked or asked someone with access to the Mount Moriah database to look them up? They might be listed. What are the names and dates? I have access to it and I'm sure others on the list do as well (anyone with a GSP membership). 3. Answer to my own question of North Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Over time, Mt. Moriah grew to 380 acres, spanning Cobbs Creek in to the Borough of Yeadon in neighboring DE Co. The scale of the cemetery also enabled churches, institutions and fraternal organizations to establish their own subsections within its bounds. An expansion called "North Mount Moriah Cemetery, or Graceland Cemetery, in Yeadon was later abandoned. Thanks, Jane
