Still looking for the elusive Robert PHILLIPS (PHILIPS) born around 1800 in either Tennessee or North Carolina depending on which census you read. Have found him in 1832 tax list for McMinn Co, TN, but nothing before that. First wife was Nancy ?, children were John, James Hobeck, Robert, George, William, Margaret, Myra and Martin. In the late 1850's, he went to Franklin Co, IL with James (married to Margaret Dey) and Robert. There he married Malinda Phillips King in July 1859. What happened to the other children and Nancy?
