Mar 4, 1790 JAMES PHILLIPS appoints friend, JOHN DICKENS of Nelson Co., VA lawful attorney to convey unto JOSEPH CARTWRIGHT, SARAH CARTWRIGHT- PHILLIPS wife, and others living on Cartwright Creek 1,400 acres known as CARTWRIGHT'S CLAIM. page #105, Jun 8, 1789 James Phillips md Sarah Cartwright, Sept 27, 1737. ___________________________________________________ Perrin's History Vol. 5 page 233 William came to Ky from Maryland by way of Pennsylvania stopping in Allegheny Co., then on to Ky in floating down the Ohio to the falls of Louisville.
