He married Mary Sophia Hoffman/Hoffmann in NC. They migrated to St. Clair Co., IL in the very early 1800's. I have conflicting info as to who his father may have been and niether source is yet documented. I fear the info I have for his father being Philip Phillips may be inncorrect. I would appreciate any leads, old or new! I descend through their daughter Margaret who married Conrad Carr in St. Clair Co., IL in 1803.
