Original family documents written in 1952 states her husbands' and children's' names, etc. but nothing regarding her parents. I know that there are several Lucinda PHILIPS/PHILLIPS out there, but I've yet to find mine. On census records she indicates that she is born in Ohio and her parents were both born in Ohio. Her surname is always spelled with one "l". The following is what I do know: Lucinda PHILIPS born c. 1830, OH, d. 29 July 1890, Corydon, Wayne Co., Iowa. Lucinda PHILIPS married first William Thomas LEWELLEN. William T. LEWELLEN was b. 1823, Loudoun, VA to Jessie LEWELLEN b. 1786, VA, and Sarah (?) b, 1787, VA. William T. LEWELLEN died from injuries received at Baldwin's Ferry, Black River Vicksburg, Miss. on 11 Sept. 1863. I do not have the burial place for William and would appreciate help with that also. I have searched and searched. Born to William T. and Lucinda PHILIPS LEWELLEN were the following four known children: John Nelson LEWELLEN b. 9 Sept. 1847, Cincinnati, OH, Sarah LEWELLEN, George Washington LEWELLEN b. 6 Feb. 1852, Marietta, OH and Anna LEWELLEN RYAN (Mrs. John RYAN) b. 1855, Pattonsburg, MO. Lucinda PHILIPS LEWELLEN married second to Wylie (Wiley) BOSWELL on 26 Feb. 1864. Wylie was born c. 1810 in VA and d. 4 Nov. 1890 in Corydon, Wayne Co., IA. To the marriage Wylie brought two children, Marion (called Mave) BOSWELL, b. 1859, and Arnon BOSWELL b. 1878. Born to Wylie and Lucinda were the following two children: Gilbert BOSWELL b. 1865, Wayne Co. IA, and Willy U. BOSWELL b. 1867, Wayne Co., IA. My great grandfather was George Washington LEWELLEN who married Mary Maria MARSH on 17 April 1873 in Seymore, IA. Mary Maria MARSH LEWELLEN's parents were Hugh MARSH and Elizabeth MORRISON. George Washington LEWELLEN d. 7 April 1929, Portland, OR. All seven of George Washington LEWELLEN and Mary Maria MARSH LEWELLEN's children were born in Iowa and they were: Edwin Thomas LEWELLEN, Elizabeth May LEWELLEN BARKLEY, Lucinda (Lucy) LEWELLEN, Daisy Jane LEWELLEN PALMER, Zoe Belle LEWELLEN BOATMAN, Zenus Hugh LEWELLEN, and Icea Eloner LEWELLEN LYON. My grandmother Zoe Belle LEWELLEN BOATMAN was b. 12 Sept. 1884 Conway, Taylor Co., IA and married Clyde Milton BOATMAN on 1 June 1905. Clyde Milton BOATMAN's parents were Henry Westley BOATMAN and Ida Petronella DeWEESE BOATMAN KING. Zoe Belle LEWELLEN BOATMAN d. 19 Aug. 1959, McMinnville, OR. The following three children were b. to them: Ronald Dean BOATMAN, Mary Jane Catherine BOATMAN NASH, and Clyde Marion BOATMAN. My father Clyde Marion BOATMAN was b. 12 Aug. 1920, Rich Valley, Alberta, Canada and d. 7 Feb. 1987, Crescent City, CA. I have much more information and am always happy to share.
