Looking for info on poarents of my gr-gr grandfather, Cyrus Boyd PHILLIPS, born in 1843 in Belmont County, Ohio. I believe his parents were Nelson PHILLIPS and Elizabeth BOYD. I find a Nelson and Elizabeth PHILLIPS in the 1850 Census in Goshen Twp, Belmont County, with a number of children, including Cyrus, age 7. However, by 1860, I find Cyrus, age 17, living with a young couple, William and Nancy McNichols, and their young son Stephen, age 2. Does anyone have any info on Nelson? I believe Nelson was also born in Ohio, but his parents may have been born in Virginia? Any help greatly appreciated.
