Being a Brit., the word 'Indian' means from India to me - I've been there and never met a Phillips - but I realise that it means what I call red indian over in US. Nevertheless an indian person may well call himself Phillips but that no more makes Phillips an 'indian' name than my calling myself Geronimo would make Geronimo a Welsh name.
