He was living in Jackson co. as early as 1830, then it changed to Putnam county 1854, and he's on the census' for that county after that. I'm actually not related to him, but did some research on him trying to figure out who he was related to hoping to find a connection to my Phillips (I'm related to Charles Phillips who is listed near Jesse's family on the census' in Jackson/Putnam co.).
