Surnames: Phillips, Jergins Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/nNABAIB/5588 Message Board Post: My great-great-grandmother was probably Mary Phillips who is listed in the 1880 Williams Ranch, Brown County, Texas census as: Mary Phillips, Widow, age 39, born in TX, House Keeper Children listed are Sarah 12, Charles 10, Susan 8 (my great-grandmother Susan Marie (Phillips) Jergins) and George 3. When I posted a message regarding this on the 11th, another researcher discovered a cemetery record on H. T. Phillips who was born Feb 6, 1849 and died Oct 21, 1879. He is buried in the Clear Creek Cemetery near Brownwood, Brown County, TX. Mary's youngest child was born in 1877, H. T. Phillips died in 1879 and Mary is listed as a widow on the 1880 census, so the dates coincide. If anyone has any information regarding Mr. Phillip's full name or anything that would connect him with Mary and her children I would certainly appreciate it. Thanks.
