Hello everyone, My great-grandfather, Tucker Munro Phillips lived in Phillipsburg, Missouri around 1900 and married Lottie Maude Auberry. I am looking for his family line. I believe his mother's name was probably Louisa, but have no idea what her maiden name was or who Tuck's father was except that he was from Tennessee and possibly spent time in Arkansas and may have been on the Trail of Tears, maybe not. Tuck claimed he was half Cherokee. His first marriage was to a Native American. They had a baby but she and the baby were burnt alive by white vigilantes, probably because of their being a mixed family. Tuck did look Native American in that he was tall and sinewy, had high cheekbones, and straight, black hair. Does anyone have PHILLIPS ancestors who married Native Americans or who were themselves Native Americans? I found some research to indicate he was in Oklahoma Indian Territory recently widowed and living with his brother-in-law, a Mr. Reynolds. Also I found that he was probably born in Arkansas on Osage land or former Osage land. The clues are few and far between though. He himself was born too late to have been on the Trail of Tears around 1838, as I recall. Any clues would be most appreciated. Victoria Bennett great-granddaughter of Tucker Munro Phillips and Lottie Maude Auberry (daughter of Thomas Auberry)
