Author: archaeoamy Surnames: PHILIPS, PHILLIPS, TOMLIN Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.phillips/8185/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Just wanted to put this out for anyone interested: No. 399 Tomlin, Elizabeth from Philips, Abraham Deed 60 acres This indenture made this 30th day of June one thousand eight hundred and one between Abraham Philips in the County of Rockingham and state of North Carolina of the one part, and Elizabeth Tomlin in the same County and State aforesaid of the other part, Witnesseth that the said Abraham Philips for and in consideration to him in the sum of five shillings as also that good will which he hath and beareth unto his sister and for the better maintainance and perferment of the same, hath given granted bargained sold aliened enfeoffed and confirmed and do by these presents give grant bargain sell and confirm unto the said Elizabeth Tomlin her heirs and assigns, sixty acres of Land situate lying and being on the waters of Wolf Island Creek in the County aforesaid, Begining at the post oak and black oak James Wardlow Dec'd. corner, thence with that line North one hundred and sixty poles to a black Jack, thence West along the same line forty eight poles to a grub among some pointers thence North ten poles to a hickory, thence West twenty five degrees South fifty three poles to a black oak on John Granger line thence South twenty five degrees East one hundred and sixty eight poles along William Harrisons line to a post oak, thence East twenty one poles to the first Stations and contains 60 acres of Land, Together with all woods ways waters mines minerals hereditaments and appurtenances to the said L! and belonging or appertaining to hold to the said Elizabeth Tomlin her heirs or assigns and the said Abraham Philips and his heirs the said Tennement and premises and every part thereof against him and his heirs and against all and every other person or persons what soever laying lawfull right or claim thereunto to have and to hold to the said Elizabeth Tomlin her heirs or assigns forever do warrant and defend by these presents.
