For what it is worth, there are three David Phillips on the 1820 Tennessee census; one in Davidson Co TN, one in Rutherford Co TN and one in White Co TN.  Davidson and Rutherford Counties adjoin each other and White County is located several counties to the east.   The David Phillips in Davidson Co was age 16 to 26 and he is listed next to a Samuel Phillips age 45 plus.  My guess is he was the son of Samuel.  The one in Rutherford Co was age 45 plus and he is listed two names away from a Richard Philips (age 26 to 45) and a Bennett Phillips (age 45 plus).  This David might have been the brother or cousin of Bennett.  The one in White Co was age 45 plus and he is listed next to a Thomas Phillips age 26-45.  I suspect this is the David Phillips born 1755 NC who was married to Agnes Ashley, since that David had a son named Thomas born 1788.   Nancy Kiser Administrator Phillips Worldwide DNA Project       --- On Thu, 6/19/08, Carol Lang <crabapple3395@yahoo.com> wrote: From: Carol Lang <crabapple3395@yahoo.com> Subject: Re: [PHILLIPS] PHILLIPS Digest, Vol 3, Issue 137 To: phillips@rootsweb.com Date: Thursday, June 19, 2008, 10:17 AM Could this David Phillips have been in Weakley Co, Tennessee at one time?
