Hi Donna, I have a Pinckney G. Phillips in Cherokee Co., Texas. He was there in the early 1850's, coming from Butler Co., Alabama. He was born 1812 in South Carolina according to some census records, although one has that he was born in Georgia. There is a George Washington Phillips who also lived in Cherokee Co., TX. I think he was a brother to Pinckney. George was born in 1814. I checked their children and Pinckney would have had children the age of your R. B., but there's no R.B. in either family. I'm thinking that the reason Georgia is listed as a birthplace is that coming from SC many folks stopped in Georgia on their way. In checking my records I found R. B. in my database with the notation that the info came from ssydney2000@aol.com. R.B. Is most likely related to Pinckney and George but I don't know how at this point. Pinckney is a brick-wall, I have no idea who his parents were. Good luck in your search. Please let me know if you do find R.B.'s parents...it may be a clue for me.
