Prairie dog: I am interested in your Gabriel Phillips who ended up in SC and died in 1809. I am looking for a Thomas Phillips, born ca 1740 (don't know where) who lived in Pittsylvania Co. VA in the 1760s - 1790s. He also had a daughter named Susannah. (Susannah married 1794 Josiah Sparks, and they went to Union Co. SC.) This Thomas Phillips married Margaret Buchanan. I don't have the names of any other children for them, nor the death dates of Thomas and Margaret. Thomas likely could have been Welsh. Allied names were Wright, Ownby, and Powell (along with Sparks). Do you have a list of the siblings of your Gabriel Phillips? I know Thomas is a very common name in the Phillips lines, and in 25 years I have not found another researcher looking for this Thomas. I have not checked in PA, however. Thanks for any information.
