That maybe unfortunate because there's no one I can compare stories, notes, etc. etc. I have a cousin in So. California who comes from the same set of brothers in Loudoun, she from John Nicholas Phillips (b. ca 1775), me from brother Peter Phillips (b. 1768). Their father Nicholas Phillips first shows up in records we have when he leased some property in 1767 from John Norton. Nicholas' leased 150 acres property was somewhere between Dutchman's Creek and Catoctin Creek. Where Nicholas came from or whom he married we don't know. Usually men didn't wait 10 years to start having kids, so Nicholas may have been alone for along time. Curious.
