In looking at my grandfather's pedigree this morning, I just realized that another dead end on his side is that of his g g g grandmother, Hannah Phillips. All I know is that she married Elisha Hall (son of Ichabod and Lois (Kibbe)) who was born 23 Nov. 1751 in Enfield, CT.. His son, Luke, my grandfather's g g grandfather, was born June 16, 1771 in New Marlborough, MA. Therefore, Elisha and Hannah were probably married 1770 or 71 in either Enfield or New Marlborough. My previous post (Moses Hall @ 1827 Canada) mentioned that we thought the Indian legend came from my grandfather's mother's side because of the appearance in pictures of his mother, aunt and half-uncle.but my research showed no sign of Indian. However, I have learned, since that original posting on the Quebec board) that Phillips is a very common last name adopted by Indians of the northeast.specifically the Abenaki. Hannah Phillips is on my grandfather's mother's side.unlike the Canadian Phillips that is on his father's side. If anyone may know of a direction to point me to concerning either of these Phillips lines it would be most appreciated. Incidentally, both of these Philipses married a Hall.from separate Hall lines! How ironic! Thank you, Jim
