This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Phillips family line in Loudoun, Virginia Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/nNABAIB/7500 Message Board Post: I posted some replies but I think they're buried so this message is new and can be seen by all. I took the DNA test but the results showed that I'm not related to anyone in the Phillips Project. In a way it didn't surprise me because this part of the line is dwindling. I haven't joined the YSearch or Phillips America and I'd like to. I need some help with that. I have two sons, John (of course) who isn't married yet and Jason who has 2 daughters and no sons. So I remaried and had another son (I'm 65), Kenneth and he's 7 now. I'm stuck at a brickwall with Nicholas Phillips d. ca. 1786 in Loudoun VA. He lived between Dutchman's Creek and Catoctin Creek. He comes to our attention by way of a lease for 150-acres in that area dated 1767, land he got from John Norton. Nicholas' son Peter was b. the following year 1768 and John Nicholas b. ca. 1775. We know plenty about the two brothers. Nothing about the father Nicholas or his wife, her name, or where they came from. Far as I know, the boys didn't go to NC or KY. They went to Ohio.
