Many years ago (more than 50) when I first started tracing my family history, some of my distant (and some not so distant) cousins would reply to my inquirys of what they may know of the family history with, "why in the world would anyone waste their time dragging up all that old stuff?" As the years went by those same cuzins come back to me asking for all the info I had gathered so they could join this or that group that wanted to know your family history. I would only give additional info after they had sit down and completed all they already knew of their heritage. Those that would take the time to do that, I felt were worthy of benifitting from my years of hard (but enjoyable) work. Those who did not want to take the time and just wanted to be "given" the that old stuff, I simply told them how they could go about researching like I had. Some did, some did'nt. They still come askin. Bob Carl Phillips wrote: > OH, I agree wholeheartedly.
