Well, I suppose if one goes to bed at 1am and is back up at 2:52 one might consider it a nap rather than a nites sleep-well, I am up. Am cooking some pork stew meat I bought today, maybe when I get hungry today there will be something to eat because its a cooking day it appears because I noticed last nite there was nothing else after I ate the last Yes, those little cups were in my oak cabinet. Those are hand painted blue bonnets on them. I thought the kids could drink hot choc out of them for a treat being crock it should stay warm a while longer than a regular cup-but does it last long anyway. I can't believe it but I had already forgotten I had sent you anything. Been an awful lot of thinking and doing here I guess. I was talking to Bran tonite if he had talked to Diana's father about putting in a new back door-he said no, he hadn't talked to him, he then said Mom, I just bought it Friday, this is only Monday. A gas plumbing man is going by the Angle house tomorrow and going to call me tonite and tell me how much he will charge for two new gas outlets, hook up hot water heater and new line from tank to under house. IF I don't keep after him things will be much slower than I like. Bran said utilities are supposed to be on by 4pm Tues afternoon, I need to call him and tell him on the way home he needs to stop by and check to make sure there are no water leaks not being caught by containers before I get there maybe Wed. Today I need to get laundry done and some cooking done so later this week I can spend time over there and since I am so tired when I get home I had better have something cooked up. In fact I may cook all day. I made some tuna fish salad last nite, the bread we made the other day is good but it still didn't taste right with the tuna fish, well, knowing me I ain't gonna waste it-the tuna salad so will boil some pasta and make a tuna salad with it. I didn't put any pickles in it so will add green peas to the salad and some chopped onion, ought to be pretty good-well, it will be something filling when I am hungry. No Melba isn't moving away, if anything she will be stubborn and stay living where she is but I can't be running 46 miles every week to take her to grocery store when he vehicle is no longer running either and I will not let her use my car, she would have fenders dented pretty quick. I swear she sees just how close she can get to anything with her pickup. Bran finally made it to Bills tonite for a table trade. Bill said he wanted a smaller, not round kitchen table and if anyone would trade he would be willing. WEll, Bill had a round over a 100 year old, 5 leg Oak table one can put a leaf in. I told Bran Diana would want it, plus it was worth some big money, I told Diana and she said yes so the trade was tonite finally. Melba wanted that table so bad but Bill wouldn't trade with her. You know thinking about it I need to get going on taking the fencing over there and get started on that, will have to rely on others to pound posts to tie fencing on and need to do that before it gets really cold. I may call Bill tomorrow and see about getting time set up. that would be a good thing to do on a Sat if Bill is willling, I could get Bradley on a Sat to help if he doesn't have a soccer game. I think Bradley has his driving license now, anyway Sunday when he was getting ready to pull the carpeting down to burn pile, I yelled, Bradley, why don't you move my car out of the way-like a bullet he flew to the car, I laughed, when they first get their license they will drive anywhere no matter why, he backed it back up later so I wouldn't have to walk so far without me even telling him-so cute they are when they first drive. They will go to the store for you 6 times in an hour if they get to drive...... ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mary Jane Phillips-Matz" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, October 20, 2006 6:08 PM Subject: Re: [PHILLIPS] Early Kentucky Phillips Dear Carol, Seeing your Phillips note, I'd like to mention two men named Charles and John PHILLIPS, who were in Kentucky in the early 1800s. My gr-gr-grandfather, Charles PHILLIPS, was born in North Carolina, married Jemima (her maiden name HARDY), who was from Craven County, NC, with a very, very well-documented line of ancestors in the PHILLIPS family as well as in the HARDY family. (In other words, Jemima's huband was Charles PHILLIPS, her mother was Mary PHILIPS from Craven County, NC; and her father was John HARDY.) And Jemima [Hardy] Phillips was the granddaughter of John PHILLIPS, who mentioned her in his Craven County NC will in the late 1700s and was himself born and baptized in Virginia in 1726. I don't want to bore you to death, but it's important to say that all this is thoroughly documented, unlike a lot of things on the Internet. My father, William Mason PHILLIPS, was born in Franklin County KY. Other names lead me to believe that some of these went on to Livingston Co, KY and downward to Caldwell, Trigg, Calloway and Graves Cos. Is this the John bc 1789 husband of Nancy that is in early Hickman Co, KY (parent of several of the above counties)? My greatgrandfather was Jacob Phillips died between 1881 and 1900 census. Wife, Mary Story(bn 1839), was from Graves Co, and there is a Jacob Phillips that according to the 1870 census is dead....and couldn't have married a dead man and had 2 children. Other alternative is that she married a much younger man, Jacob Jr(bn abt 1856). Also, is there a site that I can send my picture of Jake for other Phillips to see?
