If so, you would be able to see immediately if your great great grandmother was Native American. DNA can reveal your haplogroup, which is similar to race. Native American males are predominantly Q and Q3, with a small percentage of C3, so if the DNA of one of your male Phillips cousins was Q, Q3 or C3, you would have proof of Native American heritage. Alternatively, you can have your DNA analyzed to see if you carry any Native American DNA, but that DNA test is much more expensive and you would not know for certain that it came from your Phillips line.
