All I know is the "Y" should tell me about my Rogers and the mt should tell me about my mother to mother to mother etc. I don't know if my results will mean anything in the Phillips even thought my ggrdmother was Mary Jane Phillips. I have tried to get my Phillips cousins to do their DNA but no luck so far. Should I still contact Shannon Phillips? Alton Gayle Rogers Manvel, Texas (20 miles south of Houston) http://users2/ev1.net/~agrogers Alton, I just happened to notice this becaue my wife is part of th Phillips Project(s). I am part of the two Moore projects. One of the Moore Projects does very little to assist. The other has gone to great effort to post a website which has a wonderful chart. Each person who submits their Y Dna and a family tree is assigned a group of like Dna on the chart. You can see who else is in your group and can look at their tree for common ancestors. In my case, I was able to be assigned to Group 16 and found a man in Tennesse with the exact Y Dna for 37 markers. We are convinced our earliest American ancestors were related, possibly brothers. Ithas enable us to work with each other. I think one of the two Phillips projects is doing that. Those folks for sure ought to get your Dna as well as your family tree as you know it. BestRegards, Mike Moore
No, unless your name is Phillips, it would not help. But please urge your cousins to join.
