If you follow her book, you will discover she actually moved to the ancestral areas where she was doing research. (We sure would like to find her research source data!). She also had a healthy skepticism and would not claim things which she could not confirm. Flora believed, for instance, that she was descended from Edward Fuller of the Mayflower, but would not claim it because of a questionable link. We were recently able to confirm that link to the satisfaction of the Mayflower Society. I mention this because I would be cautious before I cast aside Flora's lifetime of diligent research as that of an "amateur genealogist." She dedicated her life and her wealth to research into her Bogue and Phillips families. And she did it the hard way-no computers.
