Philips, Murray Classification: Marriage Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/nNABAIB/2630.1.1.1 Message Board Post: Noticed an answer to someone elses request for Phillips information and you saying you had lots of information on the Phillips line so hope you can help me. I am looking for information in Philadelphia on John Henry Phillips married to Liza Elisabeth Murray, had several children, one son born in 1900, Lawrence Joseph Phillips, and one daughter, I believe her name was Julia, who was 3 years older than Lawrence, only survivors of a scarlet fever epidemic in 1911. Eliza born in Philadelphia, (have traced her ancestry to Willliam and Lititia Bell from Ireland), Lawrence (her son) was born in Philadelphia. Name may have been spelled with one "l" Philips. Julia was sent to live with friends. Don't know what happened to Lawrence after 1911 until 1930 found him in Boston Mass. Need to know where his family is buried and if you have any information on this Phillips line, ie., names of other children. Or information on Julia. I have been searching now for 2 years and have post! ed several queries to the Phillips and PA web sites with no responses. Sure hope you can help me. I have sent to PA to find their birth certificates but they could find no information.
Every now and then I ask this: does anyone know of any other Phillips lists with whom I could communicate? I haven't had anything *close* for months, and am very discouraged. I'm searching for information on my mother's birth parents and family. She was born Ruby Catherine PHILLIPS Nov. 24, 1911 in Braymer, MO, and immediately put in the Children's Home Society of Missouri for adoption. Earnest and Nella Richardson of St. Louis adopted her in 1913, and she grew up as Nella Jane Richardson. Repeated attempts through the proper channels in Missouri and the Children's Home Society to try to acquire a birth certificate have been consistently unsuccessful. Still alive at 90, my mother is a widow in retirement in Lancaster, CA. We'd love to find family somewhere! Thanks to anyone who can help. Richard Tennesen, Capitola, CA

If your ancestor was 16, he should be in the 1880 census. Where does he say he was born and where does he say his parents were born? My Phillips family lived in Richland and Newberry Counties from about 1803 to about 1817, but I found some documents about them in the Greenville SC Public Library when I was lecturing down there last year. All good wishes, Mary Jane Phillips-Matz

Are their any Valentines in your ancestry. Our Ethnic beginnings are simuliar .One Mary J. Phillips (gggm) married Martin Valentine (gggf) .Somewhere in their is Cherokee also and I know Dutch, English Scot or Welch. I also know that the name Martin has been carried on for many generations in my family. The ones I am searching at present are Martin Valentine b.1814, NY. and Mary J. Phillips b. 1816 Ma. Given Names in families are: Asa, Parman, Alonzo, Chauncy, Orange,Lucinda, Hellen, Laurey (f). All born mid 1800s in Michigan. They migraited as far west as Wash. state and their children are all over the country. My Grandfather came to Chicago with brother Robert Valentine. His name was Franklin Orange Valentine. I have searched every place in New England for Mary J. Phillips. Her father or brothers were named Asa and, or Chauncy. They Migraited to Mich. in 1837 with Valentines. Does any of this connect to your Phillips? Thanks, Ann
