The family moved around and supposedly Monroe was born in Michigan. He would have been born in the mid 1800's. One of Monroe's and Irene's sisters was named Naomi Grace....So, I wondered if you know who the older Monroe's father was?

George was my fathers Dad and his name was George Gailen Phillips. This is interesting to me because I had an Uncle George Gaylord Phillips. I had not seen that middle name for a long time. I know he is not connected, but his father was Charles Joseph Phillips who was married to an Elizabeth Kirkland in Oklahoma. The moved from there to Texas and then last of all to Montana and I am not sure where in Montana Uncle George was born. I know there last three children were born in Montana. Uncle George did not have any children and he was married to a Charlotte, I have never managed to get her last name.
