This Dabney had a brother named Benjamin. It is possible that Dabney named a son after his brother. Dabney's father was William Phillips and his mother was named Merry. William died in Amherst Co VA in 1799. He didn't leave a will but you can reconstruct his children from the flurry of deeds after William's death. Good luck! Nancy Kiser
