Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/nNABAIB/5421.3 Message Board Post: I have an ancestor, David Phillips, that was born in Caswell NC in 1755. . .I do not have a list of siblings. He was married to Agnes Ashley. His father was Rueben Phillips & mother was Catherine Howard Phillips. The earliest ancestor I know of was Thoma Phillips, born in 1675 in Maryland. There were so many Phillips men with the same names that it is certainly a chore to find our roots.

I wish they were related. I have hit a wall after John Phillips. All I know of Missourie is her parents were John Mauldin and Gilla Maney. She also had a brother John T Mauldin. John Phillips had a brother Tom or Thomas. I do have a picture of Tom and Lizzy Phillips. Tom worked for the rail road.

Also more info on one of their children, Capitola "Tollie" Burch (1865?-192?) who married William Phillips or Philips (spelled both ways on the census). From the census, I believe they lived in Amherst all of their lives. I have info on their descendants if you are interested, but would love info on their parents or a maiden name for Susan.

Surnames: Phillips, Valentine Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/nNABAIB/5518.1 Message Board Post: Their may be a connection to the Valentines in Marathon Twp. Their were some children taken in by them. I was going under the asumption they were Valentines, but my ggggrandmother was Mary J. Phillips, married to Martin Valentine. They could have been her sibbelings children, which could have made them Phillips children. Do you have any dates? Someone contacted me a while ago, said she had pictures of a Minnie and 2 other women in front of a store in LaPeer. She thought Valentines. In our family their are given names of Alonzo, Asa, Orange(not Orin) Franklin and Parmer..Girls Lucinda, Hellen,Laura, Sarah. My family took in a Louise, called her Aleta. There is also a Chauncy or Chance, and later John, and Nona, also Martin. Are their any of these among your ancestors? Ann
