I looked from 1869 to 1874 but couldn't find Jacob's birth. I would assume this means he was definitely born before 1869. Have you found Jacob in the 1881 census?

The Juvenile Court Puzzled by a Precocious Boy. Everett PHILLIPS of 5808 Perry avenue, 6 years old, bright eyed and smiling, was in the juvenile court yesterday afternoon. "Is he a bad boy?" Judge GOODRICH asked the boy's mother. "Well, at home he's no worse than any other boy, I suppose," the parent replied. "He's been in several homes and nurseries, and I hear he's a terrible fighter in those places." "He's too young to be responsible," said E. L. MATHIAS, probation officer. "Better make him a ward of the court." His mother was willing and the boy became a ward. (I have no connection with any of these people but let me know if you do.) neirbo

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/nNABAIB/1909.2170.1.1.1 Message Board Post: Enoch & Susan had 9 children I believe, in the 1880 census, they show 4 boys still living at home, Levi, Henry, David, & Joseph. Jordan & wife Mary lived next door, (this is the lineage I am from) I want to say they had a daughter named Elizabeth also. Enoch was 51 years of age in 1880. He passed away in the early 1900's. From the information I have obtained, He was Pastor of the Poplar Springs Primitive Baptist Church in Cowata County, Ga. He and Susan are buried in that Cemetary. This is about all the info I have, If you can shed some light or have additional information for example who Enoch's parents were, I would be much appreciative.
