Phillips, was born Nov. 9 or 11, 1925 to Emma Phillips, His grandparents were L.Caney Phillips & Rosetta Phillips having at one time or another lived at Onieda, TN in Scott County. my dad also has a sister named Georgia Phillips who was married to Dale Lovett of Harlan or Hazard, KY My problem being I can't get any information on my dad's Father in order to trace that part of the tree. My dad's stepfather was Thomas Gamble who married Emma and worked in the coal mines of Southeastern Kentucky. They had 3 more kids Ethel Mae, Annette, & Chester Dale Gamble. Ethel & Annette still live in Cincinnati, OH My dad didn't know his dad but thinks his name may have been Joe, or Joseph & may have been called "Baby Joe" I & my dad both assume the Last Name was PHILLIPS Dad & Georgia both are alive, Emma died in 1999 at 95yrs old. Grandma Emma never spoke of my dad's real father, why? I have no idea, perhaps one of you can help?

I do not have parents or siblings for either of these two. All I know for sure is they were married 1 May 1821 in Hallowell Twp., Prince Edward Co, Ontario. Canada. They had 6 children in Hallowell: John Jr. Mary Ann, Joseph, Smith, Phoebe and Benjamin. Then I believe Catherine died and John remarried to Mary Ann Dewell. abt 1830. They lived in Hillier, Prince Edward Co Ontario and had most of their 7 children their. They were also in Murray Twp, Newcastle District for awhile. My husbands mother was a phillips. Her name is Hazel Bonita Phillips Harper. Her father was Jesse Lane Phillips. Jesse was born in 1895. He was raised in Bear Creek, Chatham Co NC. I know his father and mother were George and Lydia Phillips. His brothers were Burt, Percy, Roland, and I think there were 2 other brothers and a sister. I know his family is buried at the Edwards Cemetery. Are you familiar with any of these names?

NC. My husbands uncle is buried there. He was just a baby. His name is Thomas Arthur or Arthur Thomas Phillips. His father was Jesse Lane Phillips. Jesse wanted him buried with his parents and family. Jesse Phillips father was George and Lydia Phillips. Jesse was born in 1895 and Jesse was not buried there. Thomas Arthur was Jesse and Leona's firstborn son.
