Here is a Phillips book for sale on ebay if this looks familiar to anyone. This is a spiral bound book. I hope someone finds this helpful. Carolyn Phillips Waters Item # 2912835656 About 4 hours left on Ebay Auction. William Phillips lived in Dorchester County, MD. Among his children were Philemon, who was born about 1721, and William. Philemon had Philemon Jr., William, Thomas, John, Ezekiel and James. Among this latter family, John, William and Thomas moved to Rockingham County, NC about 1790, then John and William moved to Kentucky. Thomas moved to Pike County, Illinois, and was involved with Daniel Boone's family. James is said to have settled in Virginia. Many of William and John's descendants moved to southern Indiana, settling around Jefferson, Jennings and Scott counties. Winner to pay $3.50 priority. Paypal available. Thanks.

Hi Everyone: The old genealogy scam is back. www.genseekers.com Behind the password protection are links to the free genealogy on-line. There is no content of their own. In order to get the "5-day free trial" you have to surrender a credit card or bank account number. You have to cancel within 5 days or you get dinged. Guess what? The cancellation e-mail bounces. Does this surprise you? One person who recently fell for the come-on had his/her account dinged not once, but twice. It is time to remind folks on your state and county mailing lists about these scoundrels. It has been a couple of years since we have mentioned this. Permission is granted to pass this on. Most people do not do so out of malicious intent, they usually just have not been updated with the correct information. (When I first started researching my family, People had my Grandfather listed as a woman, who died 40 years prior to her, er...his real death!) If you find, however that someone is deliberately trying to malign your family, I would advise you to contact Ancestry.com.

Hello! Is anyone else researching Phillips families in Preston, New London Co., CT? how about in Rhode Island? Windham or Bennington Co.s, Vermont? or in "up-state" New York? My ancestors, Elijah Phillips and Susannah Gates were married in Preston (now Griswold), CT in 1778. Susannah's parents were supposedly Stephen and Hannah (Meech) Gates and the Gates family had been in Preston for generations. Elijah Phillips was supposedly "born in Rhode Island." Elijah served in the American War for Independence. I have more information on this particular family. I also have collected some information on people named Phillips in the areas I have mentioned trying to locat Elijah's parents. I would like to compare notes with anyone who is interested. I have many more details, but here is a synopsis: By about 1781 Elijah and Susannah (Gates) Phillips left Preston, CT and supposedly lived in Halifax, Windham Co., VT (where Susannah's parents moved and died). From there, the Phillips family moved to New York: they may have lived in Lockport, Cayuga Co., New York ; they likely lived for a short time in Canajoharie, Montgomery Co., NY in 1790; before 1792, the family settled in what would become Manluis Square, Onondaga Co., NY, south of Syracuse. My line from Elijah and Susannah (Gates) Phillips goes: *Ezra Gates Phillips (1789-1838) who married Tamar Walker (dau. of Phineas and Tryphena (Hines) Walker). they supposedly had an inn in Utica, Oneida Co., NY. and moved to Cass Co., Michigan in 1835. *Edgar E. Phillips (1826-1870) who married Almira Knapp (dau. of Amos and Elizabeth (Blezzard/Buzzard) Knapp). Edgar lived in Michigan and Iowa. *Fredrick Sylvanus Phillips (1859-1939) and Mary Elizabeth Whealen (dau, of Dr. George and Mary (Holmes) Whealen. They lived in IA and SD and settled in Stevens Co., Washington in 1896. *Florence Winona Phillips (1885-1983) who married Robin Carl Sheedy... these are my great-grandparents. Anything ring a bell? --Nick Sheedy, John Day, Oregon __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Tax Center - forms, calculators, tips, more http://taxes.yahoo.com/
